Fresh Oil of Wisdom Moments: 12

Spiritual Meaning of the Number 12

That the number twelve signifies faith, or the things of love and the derivative faith in one complex, might also be confirmed by many passages from the Word, as from the twelve sons of Jacob and their names, the twelve tribes of Israel, and the Lord's twelve apostles; but concerning these of the Lord's Divine mercy hereafter, especially in Genesis 29 and 30.

from AC 577

The signification of twelve is all things of faith or of the church (AC 577, 2089, 2129, 2130). That all numbers in the Word signify actual things, may be clearly seen from the number twelve, which so often occurs. This number, wherever it occurs in the Word, signifies all; as for instance the twelve tribes in the Old Testament, and the twelve apostles in the New, signify all things of faith, and thus all things of the church. So here twelve princes signify all the primary things of this church, and these are represented by so many sons of Ishmael.
[2] That twelve has this signification may be seen from the passages adduced in the sections above cited, as also from the following passages in the Word. In John:--

I heard the number of those who were sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel. Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand (Rev. 7:4, 5);

and so on; where by twelve thousand sealed out of every tribe nothing else is signified than that all who are in faith, that is, who are in the good of faith, are saved. Again:--

A woman encompassed with the sun, and the moon under her feet and upon her head a crown of twelve stars (Rev. 12:1);

the woman denotes the church (AC 252, 253); the sun, celestial love; and the moon, spiritual love (AC 30-38, 1529, 1530, 2441, 2495); the twelve stars denote all things of faith. Stars are the knowledges of good and truth which are of faith, (AC 2495, 2849).
[3] Again:--

The holy city, New Jerusalem, had twelve gates, and upon the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. And he measured the wall thereof, a hundred and forty and four cubits (twelve times twelve), which is the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls (Rev. 21:2, 12, 14, 16, 17, 21);

here by the holy city nothing else is signified than the Lord's spiritual kingdom; and by gates, wall, foundations are signified the things of charity and faith; and by twelve, so often mentioned, are signified all of these things; that neither twelve tribes nor twelve apostles are signified, must be evident to every one. Again:--

In the midst of the street of it, and on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve fruits, yielding its fruit every month (Rev. 22:2);

the twelve fruits are all things of charity.
[4] In Matthew:--

Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, that ye who have followed Me in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit upon the throne of His glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel (Matthew 19:28);

here apostles are not meant by apostles, nor thrones by thrones, nor tribes by tribes, but all things that are of faith (AC 2129). Moreover in the Word of the Old Testament, where twelve tribes are mentioned, it is all things of the church that are signified; and the case is the same with the twelve stones according to the names of the twelve tribes of Israel in the Urim and Thummim (Exod. 28:21); and with the twelve loaves of the show bread set in order upon the table (Lev. 24:5, 6); and so in other instances.

The Number 12

Governmental perfection; People of God

TWELVE: Perfection of government. Twelve is the number of the Church, both the Old Covenant Church of Israel founded by 12 physical fathers (the 12 sons of Israel) and the New Covenant Church founded by 12 spiritual fathers (the 12 Apostles). This number also has a relationship to rule along with multiples of 12:
  • 12 signs of the zodiac (these ancient symbols are found in Jewish synagogues of the 1st century AD).
  • The circle of the heavens = 360' (12 x 30).
  • The product of 3 (perfection of divinity) x 4 (the number of the earth).
  • 12 tribes of Israel [Genesis 49:28].
  • 12 pillars were erected atMt.Sinai [Exodus 24:4].
  • 12 statues of oxen held up the water basin in Solomon’sTemple [1 Kings 7:25].
  • 12 men were selected by God to conduct the census [Numbers 1:2-16].
  • 12 princes ofIsrael brought gifts to the Sanctuary on 12 days [Numbers 7:10-83].
  • 12 spies sent to reconnoiterCanaan [Numbers 13:1-15].
  • 12 months of a year.
  • Jesus is 12 when He questions the scholars in the Temple [Luke 2:41].
  • 12 legions of angles [Matthew 26:53].
  • 144,000 servants of God (12 times 12) [Revelation 7:4].
  • 12 gates of the New Jerusalem [Revelation 21:12].
  • 12 foundations of the Heavenly Jerusalem [Revelation 7:4; 21:16, 17].
  • The Trees of Life in the new creation will bear 12 kinds of fruits [Revelation 22:2].

Fresh Oil of Wisdom Moments: It’ll Be Perfect

It’ll Be Perfect

Wishing to encourage her young son’s progress on the piano, a mother took her boy to a Paderewski concert. After they were seated, the mother spotted a friend in the audience and walked down the aisle to greet her.

Seizing the opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall, the little boy rose and eventually explored his way through a door marked “NO ADMITTANCE.”

When the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother returned to her seat and discovered that the child was missing. Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive Steinway on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the keyboard, innocently picking out “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.”

At that moment, the great piano master made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and whispered in the boy’s ear, “Don’t quit. Keep playing.” Then leaning over, Paderewski reached down with his left hand and began filling in the bass part.

Soon his right arm reached around to the other side of the child and he added a running obligato. Together, the old master and the young novice transformed a potentially frightening situation into a wonderfully creative experience. The audience was absolutely mesmerized.

Whatever our situation in life and histories, however outrageous, however desperate, whatever dry spell of the spirit, whatever dark night of the soul, God is whispering deep within our beings, “Don’t quit. Keep playing. You’re not alone; together We will transform the broken patterns into a masterwork of Our creative art. Together, We will mesmerize the world with Our song of peace.”

Daily Scriptures

Psalm 15

King James Version (KJV)
1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Ephesians 6

King James Version (KJV)
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;
6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
8 Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
9 And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.
23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Fresh Oil of Wisdom Moments: Winners in Integrity

WINNERS AND WINNERS
By: Al Covino

As a high school coach, I did all I could to help my boys win their games. I rooted as hard for victory as they did. A dramatic incident, however, following a game in which I officiated as a referee, changed my perspective on victories and defeats. I was refereeing a league championship basketball game in New Rochelle, New York, between New Rochelle and Yonkers High. New Rochelle was coached by Dan'O Brian, Yonkers by Les Beck.

The gym was crowded to capacity, and the volume of noise made it impossible to hear. The game was well played and closely contested. Yonkers was leading by one point as I glanced at the clock and discovered there were but 30 seconds left to play. Yonkers, in possession of the ball, passed off-shot- missed. New Rochelle recovered-pushed the ball up court-shot. The ball rolled tantalizingly around the rim and off. The fans shrieked. New Rochelle, the home team, recovered the ball, and tapped it in for what looked like victory. The tumult was deafening. I glanced at the clock and saw that the game was over. I hadn't heard the final buzzer because of the noise. I checked with the other official, but he could not help me. Still seeking help in this bedlam, I approached the time keeper, a young man of 17 or so. He said, "Mr. Covino, the buzzer went off as the ball rolled off the rim, before the final tap-in was made."

I was in the unenviable position of having to tell Coach O' Brien the sad news. "Dan," I said, "time ran out before the final basket was tapped in. Yonkers won the game." His face clouded over. The young timekeeper came up. He said, "I'm sorry, Dad. The time ran out before the final basket."
Suddenly, like the sun coming out from behind a cloud, Coach O' Brian face lit up. He said, "That's okay, Joe. You did what you had to do. "I'm proud of you."

Turning to me, he said, "Al, I want you to meet my son, Joe." The two of them then walked off the court together, the coach's arm around his son's shoulder.

Fresh Oil of Wisdom Moments: Posts from Pastor Oliver

"The Oil of Wisdom Moments”
REAL Faith, will make you look like a fool when confronted with a fight that look like you’re going to lose but you keep on fighting. Example: Lil’ boy who had the two piece and five loaves, Jesus took the two piece and five loaves, prayed, multiplied by dividing, and fed five thousand men, not to mention the women and children. When it was over they collected the left o...vers,12 baskets! 12 baskets of fish "sammiches". Look at Jesus deal with these numbers. Add it up 2+ 5= 12 baskets. Society tells me that this don’t make no sense.
They’re right, it’s not sense it’s FAITH! I’m trying to let you know when you put Jesus in your equation the sum total always add up to a whole lot more than you started with. Is there anyone TODAY that would say, I’m looking at my life right now Pastor O, and when folk look at me I’m the sum total but they don’t know the hell I’ve been through. Give and it shall be given back to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over, he will cause men to give unto your bosom, in other news, HE will allow an overflow so others will know, I’m not fool, it just looked that way. Love you, be blessed.
Why is it that everybody wants to preach? Everybody wants to be; Apostles, Bishops, Elders, Evangelists, Mothers, Pastors, and Prophets. What have you gone through that qualifies you to hold such an office?

Everybody has a word these days; that pressures you to grab a mike, when God has not released you to. Anybody can prop you up. Where in the Bible did God instruct some to mislead others while leading behind your person podium.
Every day you are murdering the POG, not only with your words, but also with your actions. We’re saying one thing but living another, “Double Standard” and you will answer to God.
This day I decree that the POG will operate according to God's divine time-table/calendar. I decree that your agenda is our agenda. We are not our own we have been bought with a price, so I submit myself to you.

A New Job

Submitted by Janet Dixon
My husband was in the military and when he got “orders” for a permanent change of station, that meant packing up and moving with him. We moved to this city and I submitted my paperwork to a Civilian Personnel Office for a job.
Waiting to hear from the personnel office turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months into years. Finally after about two years, I was really beginning to get frustrated (trying to be patient). So I decided to give the personnel office a visit.
Upon visiting with the personnel clerk, I discovered that my name had been submitted for (now get this) 105 jobs over the last two years. I couldn’t believe it! I’ve heard of the saying “It’s not what you know, but who you know”, but this was ridiculous. Not only had I been considered for 105 jobs, but not once had I been interviewed.
I made up in my mind that I was going to have to talk to my “Father in Heaven” about this. For I said if it’s true about not what you know, but who you know, then I know God and I’m putting my “Father” on this right now.
After the personnel office closed the following day, I went out to the Civilian Personnel Office and laid my hands on the building and prayed that the Lord would touch the minds of the people that were in charge of hiring and that they would select me for the right job.
After praying and activating my faith, I LEFT IT ALONE and went to school to learn another trade. Now mind you this was the latter part of August. One day in October when I got home from school, there was a message on my answering machine for me to call the Personnel Office. I called the next day and they had a job offer for me! This was during the time that there was a “freeze” on hiring for an indefinite period of time.
The clerk said, “We would like to offer you a job, and it’s a part-time … Oh, wait a minute, this is strange… it is a full-time position … We haven’t seen one of these in a looong time!” And she went on to say “The hours are from … Um, this is strange also, the hours are from 8 p.m. – 4 a.m. This is all so very strange for a permanent full-time position to come thru here at this time and for the hours to be as they are.”
I thought to myself that is strange to her, but not to me for I know the Power of God! I truly knew tht God had seen my faith and my patience and had rewarded me for that. You see, I was able to go to school during the day from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. and work at night from 8 p.m. – 4 a.m. Not only that, but when we were not busy on my job at night, I was able to study for tests and do homework. When we finished early (God made sure that we finished early almost every night), I was able to leave and get more rest before having to go to school the next day.
God is an AWESOME GOD AND DESERVES ALL THE PRAISE AND GLORY. His word declares “If you have faith that of a mustard seed, you can say to that mountain “Move” and it shall be cast out of your way.” So be encouraged and know WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU IS FOR YOU.

Daily Scriptures
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 KJV

Colossians 3 King James Version (KJV)

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Holiness
From the Heart of Prophet Jonathan Baker,
For the longest time, I have had a problem understanding what holiness really means. I grew up in a very strict and conservative holiness background to where they taught and screamed holiness according to the sin factor not the GOD nature. I am taking this free time I have not only for school, helping dad with his assignments, but also putting teachings together with pure revelations. I was sitting here with my mind open to understanding that holiness is the virtue to preserve the GOD nature within humanity.

This is why Moses was able to do what he did because he mastered a place in GOD to the point where he learned how to preserve the GOD nature within him. Isaiah you prophesied some wisdom a little while back. You said we are using the old way of doing things with the wisdom of today. I do believe we are now operating in that realm. The book of Judges all ready demonstrates what happens when we disregard our history. Holiness is more than just dress code, being without sin, hair, make up, eating habits, lifestyles, etc. It is learning how to operate and preserve the knowledge of the GOD nature revealed from within. You cannot preserve nor operate in something without it being revealed from within.

Just LOOK Up!
Our high school just had a concert, and we went through a long and trying 2-hour practice the afternoon of a concert. As we sat down to play, this came to mind. Hope you like it . . .

Life is like playing in an orchestra. First, God gives you your instrument and some music, and you sit down to play, but you say, “God, I’ve never played this piece before! Look at all of those notes! I’ll never be able to do it!” But God gets up on the pedestal and holds His baton in His hand. He winks at you and says calmly, “Just follow me.”

You say, “But God, that will be too hard …can’t we play this other song? It looks a whole lot easier and a lot more fun to play,” but God says, “No, follow MY lead”
Well, you decide that it doesn’t matter what God says, you want to play the other song. So, as He raises His baton and begins to conduct, you ignore Him and begin wailing away at the piece you wanted to play. However, it just doesn’t quite work. The music doesn’t sound beautiful at all, because it’s not the way God wanted you to play. After a little more playing and a whole lot more frustration, you realize that it would be better just to listen to your Conductor. So, with a red face you silently search for the piece God wants you to play.

“But God, it looks so hard.” But God just smiles caringly and taps the baton on His stand. “No matter what, follow Me. Just look up at Me, and I will lead you,” He whispers. So, you begin to play. In the beginning, it seems as though you will never be able to play this piece. All you can see are those notes rushing by. Then you remember what God said . . . “LOOK UP” . . . so you look up and see God carefully counting out the beats for you, and if you listen really carefully, you can hear His Voice humming your part.

The song is the most beautiful song that you have ever heard, and you find that as long as your eyes are fixed on the Conductor, you are able to play along. All you have to do is look up! Sure, some parts are REALLY tough, but as long as you follow the Conductor and listen to His steady rhythm, you can make it through. All you have to do is LOOK UP!

The Nature of Miracles
There is a part in the paper where I talk about Jesus' ministry concerning miracles with scriptural backing. Miracles was to only prove the existence of GOD within elements. The true meaning of miracles is to change the molecular structure of an element into another without breaking the law of physical distribution in which it was designed (created) to do with permission.

This can only be accomplished when you are truly one with all four elements within yourself separately as well as collectively. Knowing each element as a single entity to find the common purpose which is the source of life. Each element holds a secret source of life when you unlock the mystery you then become the master of it.

Daily Scriptures
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” Romans 12:12 KJV
John 6:26
Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
1 Corinthians 12:28
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1 Corinthians 12:10
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:
Exodus 39:30
And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
Psalm 47:8
God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.
Psalm 110:3
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.
Zechariah 14:20
In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
Luke 1:75
In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
1 Thessalonians 4:7
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
Romans 1:4
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Fresh Oil of Wisdom Moments:Things aren’t always what they seem

Things aren’t always what they seem

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion’s guest room. Instead, the angels were given a space in the cold basement. As they made their bedroom the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied…. “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good nights’ rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel “How could you have let this happen!? The first man had everything, yet you helped him,” she accused. ”The second family had so little, but was willing to share everything and you let their cow die.”

“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angel replied.”When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave her the cow instead. “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

Sometimes this is exactly what happens when things don’t turn out the way you think they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every outcome is always to your advantage. You might not know it until some time later. “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

Daily Scriptures
“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” Romans 12:12 KJV

Proverbs 4

1Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
2For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
3For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
4He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
14Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
15Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
16For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
17For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
19The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
20My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
21Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
22For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
23Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
24Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
25Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
26Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
27Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Fresh Oil of Wisdom Moments: Twenty Dollars

Twenty Dollars

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?”

Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up. He then asked, “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air.

“Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty.

“Now who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air.

“My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives,we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value in God’s eyes. To Him, dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to Him.
Psalm 178 states that God will keep us, “as the apple of His eye.”

THOUGHT: The worth of our lives come not in what we do or who we are but by WHOSE WE ARE! You are special – Don’t ever forget it!
